After the hype...

Finally got around to reading the Da Vinci Code. I have an aversion to hype (I saw Trainspotting about three years after the rest of the world had seen it).

Now, nearing the last few chapters, I can firmly conclude that this book is actually a bit pants. Over hyped! (Okay, so about 4 million disagree with me). The style was too sensationalised for my taste, and plot felt over engineered in places and a bit obvious. Still, I think it will work a lot better as a film and I would probably go & see it. (Not quite sure if it's even out of post production yet?)

As soon as I read it I knew it would be a film, it was like reading an adaptation.

I've still not read it...and I've still not read any Harry Potter.

I think I'm also allergic to hype..
